Regularly Scheduled Rant

I have to take a moment here to get something completely unrelated to my own life off of my chest... I enjoy perusing the gossip blogs. Every morning when I sit down with my coffee I check out Jossip, SocialiteLife, Gawker, Defamer and Pink is the New Blog. I love those sites. I don't talk about it because, well, it's somewhat embarrassing. But I don't read magazines so I figure that this is my guilty pleasure. I used to read Perez Hilton way back when he was called Page Six Six Six but stopped because his site is such trash. This is what my complaint is about. On PH's website he posted screen shots of the Colin Farrell sex tape. I was really bored on that day and had exhausted all of my other regularly visited sites so I popped over to his. That is how I saw the NSFW (or anywhere for that matter) screen shot of Colin Farrell "pleasing" the woman with his, well, you know... Not his man stick. The other thing. I was SOOOO disgusted to see this on a site that anyone (children, old women, clergy) could accidentally stumble across. I immediately closed the window and then spent the rest of the day fuming about it. When Bruno got home I told him about it too. I was on a bitch roll that day! So, fast forward to today. I'm drinking my coffee and reading SocialiteLife when I see a little blurb about Perez Hilton being sued by Colin Farrell... and there is a link. So I follow it and end up at PH's site. And what does the idiot with no brains in his head do??? I ask you, if you were a monkey's ass, what would you do in this situation? Well, he proceeds to make the most defamatory statements EVER about the lawyer who is suing him. What a fucktard! I know that karma will bite me in the ass for saying this, but I hope that he gets taken down for this! I hate him so much. What a classless, tacky media whore! Hee hee.... (Oh, and for the record, I don't really care about Colin Farrell or the sex tape. But, I do hate Perez. A few months ago he "reported" that a well known writer in new york had committed suicide. Apparently she had once posed for playboy or something like it and he had the audacity to post those photos with her "eulogy". And he made rude comments about her. The woman was a well respected writer and had a child. Fucktard!)

All right. I seem to have gotten myself all worked up about that. Now I'm going to go channel my energy into work. Fun!

Regularly Scheduled Rant

Do you know people who like to laugh at you when you trip? Do you know people who, when you tell them you are going for a walk, they tell you (with absolute certainty) that you are going to trip while on your walk and then they laugh? I seem to be surrounded by these people. At every turn I have someone telling me that I'm going to fail at this or that or the other thing. And then they laugh because my failure is the most hysterical thing that they can imagine.

I don't understand this and it's one of my biggest pet peeves in the world. Why are people so excited to see me fail? Why do people get such a sick thrill at imagining me tripping? Is this a weakness on their part? A fatal flaw that they were unable to master something themselves so they project their failure onto me? Perhaps it's easier to laugh at my failure than to examine their own shortcomings?

This is something that has been bothering me for a while. I can't pinpoint any one person who does this because it seems like so many people do it. Do I do this? I have decided to make it my New Year's resolution to not do this to other people. I don't think that I do because it bothers me so intensely, but maybe I do it without realizing it. It appears to be second nature to some, like a built in response. If I have this built in response I want to hire a contractor and have that "addition" removed. It's an ugly trait and serves no one at all.
