As tends to happen in moments (days... weeks...) of intense stress, I've become sick. Thankfully I have insurance because this is one of those whoppers that I feared getting when I was hopelessly uninsured. No, not cancer or anything horrible like that. But, yes, a sinus infection of the highest order. The kind requiring antibiotics. I'm not thrilled about taking them while pregnant, but I have no choice, as I truly am sick as a dog. The thing that sucks is that I'm down to my last two pills and I'm still not 100% better. As a matter of fact, I'm only about 50% better and I have to be on an airplane in 3 days time. I'm trying not to freak out, but when has that ever been successful? Huh? I ask you! When?
So, even though my health has been less than fabulous, life has continued to roll on at a steady pace. Since I'll be "out of the office" for a week, I have a ton of stuff to complete before the big trip. That's the sucky part of working for myself. No one to cover for me while I'm out. Oh well. Which is why I'll be spending my lovely Sunday in front of the computer, writing copy for an exciting newsletter! (Please try to contain yourselves. Really, you're embarrassing yourself with this level of enthusiasm!) It's not too bad though, because I actually took the past two days off and today is my catch up day.
What was I doing, taking time off with deadlines looming and planes waiting to be boarded, you ask??? Well, Friday I was shopping. That's right. Shopping! Who knew that I would need new clothes every month? I certainly never anticipated this rate of expansion. This is how little I know about birthin' babies! It turns out that I'm at the part of the pregnancy where every day requires a new pair of pants. Yah! New pants! Because I just LOVE to go pants shopping! Ahh, to be able to check out my hugely wide ass in the mirror while my beautiful husbands sits by, promising me that I'm NOT a beached whale. What girl wouldn't want to spend her day like that?
It wasn't all bad though. I actually ended up buying some rather nice clothes and managed to somehow purchase items that make me feel attractive, even though I'm apparently carrying a small elephant. And just to make the experience even more wonderful, we hit the make-up counter on the way out and I purchased some lovely Clinique make-up. Now I really do feel good! And just in time for my trip.
On Saturday we went out to a lavender festival, which wasn't what we had hoped that it would be. It seems that I neglected to read the small print on the flyer, which said that it was actually at some guy's house in the country. Yup. We trekked way far away only to pull up in front of someone's house! And it had all of 15 booths! At least we got to see a part of the state that we've never been to. And there were cows.... Here's a picture of my belly in front of the farm that we were on. Enjoy!
(I'm now at almost 27 weeks....)
