Yesterday Mrs. Charles (of the newly married Nick and Nora) asked me what I will do with all of those damn buttons. Good question. And last night when she asked, I had no answer. But this morning, thanks to a night without sleep, I now have an answer. I don't want to tell just yet because I hope to sell these things and I don't want someone scooping my brilliant idea. And actually, it's more than one idea.
At 4am I was still wide awake (at least laying in bed with the lights off) when Bruno started making waking-up noises. After a few minutes he reached for his glasses and I knew that he was up for the day. Nice wife that I am, I rolled over and started spewing button ideas out of my mouth like we had been up for hours. Poor guy. He was still trying to figure out what day it was and here I am, the Queen of the Insomniacs, talking to him a mile a minute. I ended up following him out to the living room where I was better equipped to use props to convey my ideas. In a matter of minutes I had drawings and diagrams and was pulling out fabric to display my many plans. He actually joined into the excitement and started elaborating on my ideas. I appreciated his input, but had to veto most of his designs because they all seemed to have intestine like things hanging from them. It was a good effort, just the wrong forum. Women aren't going to buy buttons with intestines hanging off of them!
I just got a call from the good husband and he is on his way home from school. Today was the first day of his very last semester of undergrad! Yippee! Soon he will be a graduate (again!). I swear, my husband has more degrees than Carter's got pills! He's just a smarty-pants. I'm sure that he'll love to read that. Hee hee...
P.S. I linked both Nick and Nora's blogs in the post way up there (points to top of post). If you read Nick's About Page, you will see him slobbering on about his fabulous vintage Mercedes. That used to be MY car, before Bruno hit me over the head with his caveman weapon, grabbed me by my hair and dragged me to Detroit. I'm not jealous of Nick and his killer car.... Much.... (Crying silently...)
I think we need that car here in Michigan to drive from flea market to antique store to craft store. I'll wear my new shoes and you can wear your wedding dress. Thelma and Louise for the 21st century...

Don't you just love that car! I did! I'm happy that it's still in the family though and Nick loves it as much as I did. And he actually takes good care of it.
We might be able to talk Nick and Nora into driving it cross country to partake in our Michigan tour. If the car would just make it over the mountains... Seriously, that care goes zero to 30 in under 10 minutes! So what do you think Nora? Road trip???
