I haven't been ignoring you internet, I've been disconnected. Actually, the more accurate term might be "electronically voided". I'm pretty sure that I'm the victim of electromagnetic field manipulation, as three (count them: THREE) electrical problems hit me all at once. Never heard of electromagnetic field manipulation? That's probably because I believe that I just coined the phrase (I'm a word smith of sorts- *snort*). But it happened to me, so don't question it!
It all started a few weeks ago when my oven/stove crapped out while I was in the middle of cooking dinner. Odd, since the unit is practically brand new. So, we had the Sears repair guy out to look it over and he says that we've got a problem with the electrical source. There aren't enough amps... or something... for the oven/stove which is causing it to shut down if I use more than one burner at a time. Um, ok. So, enter the electrician, who says that they no longer make those particular parts anymore so he'll have to search high and low for a replacement. Crap.
Well, life was still moving along, just with take-out instead of yummy home-cooked food, when our next electrical mishap arrived. Both my phone and Bruno's phone decided to stop communicating with the outside world- SIMULTANEOUSLY! Our nearly brand new phones. The one's that I threatened to switch cell phone carriers over, if T-Mobile refused to give us new picture phones when we renewed our service agreement. The neeto phones that are more high-tech than anything that I've ever owned. Crapped. Out.
How do you call your phone carrier to report a broken phone when your phone does not work???? Riddle me that....
So, on the very same day that our phones decided to sleep with the fishes, the final feather in this technological nightmare's cap occurred when my ibook's monitor went dark. PERMANENTLY. WTF??? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I quickly wrapped up my baby (ibook) in a blanket and rushed it off to the Apple Store, crying and begging the Mac Geniuses to revive my child! SAVE HER LIFE!!! No problem, they say. You'll get her back in 7-10 business days.
Silence.
Shock.
TEARS.
Missed deadlines for work.
It's been a tough week, internet. Last night I got my computer back and our phones are also once again working. (Apparently there was a cell phone tower down in Detroit or something???) And, my stove/oven is finally able to bake AND boil at the same time again! But now, my husband is gone. I had to put him on a plane for the west coast yesterday and he won't return for a week. ARGH!!! So, typical of my life, if it ain't one thing, it's another....
Yes, but.... but.... I almost cried from relief when I saw Bruno waiting for me to pick him up. I am eternally grateful for your sacrifice. Seriously.
